Taken over in early 2025 by a couple who have lived in the region for twenty years, Sarah and Benjamin Garnache, the inn has been redesigned with a freshness and creativity that are sure to charm you.

A NEW CHAPTER BEGINS
Sarah & Benjamin Garnache
In 2025, Sarah and Benjamin Garnache took over the Auberge des Chasseurs from the family who had run it for three generations. Bringing their respective energies and passions to bear, Sarah and Benjamin breathed new life into the property and now offer a fresh and bold experience they are excited to share with you.
Sarah has been in the hotel business her whole life, and Benjamin is a chef with boundless creativity. Both living in the region for twenty years and married for almost as many, Sarah and Benjamin are the parents of six children. Since that New Year's Eve in 2006 when they met—Benjamin worked in the kitchen and Sarah in the dining room—Sarah and Benjamin dreamed of one day taking over an establishment not far from the shores of Lake Geneva.
With Sarah graduating from the prestigious École Hôtelière de Lausanne, she would naturally handle management and the hospitality side of things. Benjamin, who has spent his time working in kitchens since the age of 14, would be in charge of the restaurant. In 2024, it was love at first sight: the Auberge des Chasseurs, ten minutes from their family home in Gex, was listed for sale. They fell in love with this old farmhouse dating back to 1860, which had been converted into a hotel and restaurant in 1950.
They particularly appreciate the legacy of an establishment that has remained in the previous family for three generations, and are keen to take over the business by celebrating this continuity, highlighting quality cuisine and a wine cellar whose reputation extends beyond the valley. From the inn, only a certain sense of conviviality remains: the establishment has quickly positioned itself as a benchmark for high-end service.

The building was constructed by a farming family from the Pays de Gex region. Nestled against the foothills of the Jura and overlooking the valley, it offers a perfect location for farming activities.
The farm was converted into a hotel and restaurant by the Lamy family, who named the new business "l'Auberge des Chasseurs" in homage to this wealthy community, very active in the region. The warm interior was decorated by a Swedish artist. The dining room is adorned with black and white photographs by Henri Cartier-Bresson and Josef Koudelka.
